For over 45 years, Southern Apparel has manufactured American cut-and-sew garments for the meat, poultry, and food processing teams that keep production moving.
What we make
The long work coat — engineered for full knee-length protection. A classic fold-down collar barrier, secured with gripper or dome snaps, in countless customizable fabric weights and colors.
The short work coat — a high-mobility, hip-length alternative for core stain defense, with standard snap closures, a fold-down collar, and custom arrangements for up to four pockets.
The wrap-around smock — a collarless, 3/4-sleeve protective wrap with an adjustable 36" tie-back for quick-change convenience, customizable in industrial textiles and colors.
A versatile 47" unisex apron engineered for coverage — customizable pencil and lower pockets, 36" tie strings attached or side grommets with detached ties, and comfortable 27" neck loops.
Hoods, hi viz, collar changes, extra snaps, shortened sleeves. Any change, added per garment at one clear price.
And when a custom gets ordered long enough, it becomes a house style with a name of its own — like the 540 (our 555 without the collar, with 3/4 sleeves), the 44SLW some customers just call “the shirt” (a slim-cut, short-sleeve 444 in 5oz poplin with a gripper front and pocket snaps), and the Calwrap (a shorter 333, squared at the bottom, without the full binding). Tell us what your floor needs — keep ordering it, and it gets its own name.

Medium weight 7oz blended twill with dome snaps that hold fast to the thicker weave. The workhorse for food processing and food service lines.
Medium weight 7oz polyester poplin built for heavy laundering, with easy gripper snaps that protect the fabric. The standard for lab, pharmaceutical and counter settings.
Heavy weight 9.5oz twill with dome snaps. Worn over everyday clothing in food processing, butchery and commercial kitchens: a stain barrier that helps you meet sanitary standards, with extra weight for cold butcher areas.
All three are our 555 cut, in any color you run: white, navy, light blue, burgundy, gray, brown, hunter green, red or black. Tell us the name your production floor uses and we will build to it.
