As a custom manufacturer we tailor every order to your specification: fabric weight, pocket placement, knit cuffs, snaps and embroidery. Once this is on file and your credit is approved, we invoice on net 30.

A little about us

Southern Apparel is a family-owned custom apparel manufacturer in Wetumpka, Alabama, cutting and sewing industrial garments in the USA since 1979. We make lab coats, butcher coats, frocks, wraparound smocks, aprons and specialty sewn garments for food-processing, warehouse, lab, medical and industrial programs. Most of it is built to your exact specification.

What to expect

Lead time depends on the item, the fabric and the level of customization. We confirm timing when your quote or PO is reviewed.

Many stocked items ship in about 1–2 business days .

A typical production run is around 3–4 weeks , depending on fabric, customization, order size and current schedule.

Specialty fabric, custom colors, large volumes or new-development items are quoted , with timing confirmed up front.

Morito Scovil nickel-plated brass snaps: a military-spec barrel-capped eyelet, cycle-tested for consistent action over the life of the garment. We match the snap to your fabric:

How to read our item numbers

Each item number has three parts: Style – Fabric/Color/Pocket – Size . Example: 555-35-LG = Style 555 long coat, dark gray with 2 lower outside pockets, Large.

Sizes: SM, MD, LG, XL, 2X–9X. Custom options at no extra charge: up to 4 pockets in any placement, knit cuffs (white / black / navy), and dome or gripper snaps. In-house embroidery and sew-on patch service available. Just ask.
